BlueSox lose, 14-0
DANVILLE, Ill. — The Butler BlueSox had played close contests during their four-game losing streak.
That trend hit a brick wall Friday at Danville as the skid reached five in a row.
The Dans tagged Butler starting pitcher David Calderon with eight runs on nine hits in just four innings of a 14-0 shutout over the Sox.
Three of the eight runs Calderon surrendered were unearned as the Sox committed all three of their errors during his time on the mound.
Danville (14-11) also solved Butler relievers Kason Kimbrell and Shawn Holman, who allowed three runs in the sixth and seventh inning, respectively.
Catcher Jake Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a double for Butler.
The Sox (12-14), who suffered a 5-4 loss in 16 innings Thursday night at Kokomo, will play at Chillicothe Saturday before hosting the Paints Sunday night.
