Missing man's body found
SUMMIT TWP — The body of a Kittanning man missing since Saturday evening and his wrecked motorcycle were found by friends Thursday afternoon along Route 422.
State police said it wasn’t unusual for 36-year-old Michael Boyle to take off for a few days, and no missing person report had been filed for Boyle.
Still, friends and family, including Boyle’s girlfriend, were searching his route of travel for him.
They found debris on the side of the road, and discovered the body about 70 feet north of the Route 422 intersection with Carbon Center Road.
Boyle’s bike, a Harley Davidson, was another 15 feet farther into heavy brush.
“It was off an embankment into the brush and would have been very hard to see from the road,” said Trooper Jessica Clouse.
The incident is under investigation, but officials said they believe the bike was traveling west and was upright when it left the road. Boyle, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike.
