Heritage festival begins Saturday

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock Heritage Association will accept a few more crafters for its two-day festival Saturday and Sunday.

Activities will include flea market vendors, blacksmithing and quilting among other craft displays and vendors.

The 30th annual Slippery Rock Heritage Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Gateway Park in Slippery Rock. The festival also aligns with the celebration of the borough’s 175th anniversary.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Main Street will be closed for the 17th annual Slippery Rock Heritage Car Cruise.

Games and activities for children will be available both days, including a Power Wheels Race at 1 p.m. Sunday at Gateway Park. The competition is for children ages three to eight and is separated into two groups.
