BlueSox hurt by errors in 9-2 loss

Butler committed four errors, two of them coming in a 9-run sixth inning for Champion City as the Kings pinned a 9-2 Prospect League baseball loss on the visiting BlueSox Tuesday night.

The Sox held a 2-0 lead before the Kings sent 14 batters to the plate in the sixth.

Alex Wagner was the hard-luck losing pitcher, allowing three runs (one earned) while striking out five and walking five in 5 2/3 innings.

Relievers Jack Herzing and Carter Krick both gave up three unearned runs in a combined 1/3 of an inning.

Dillon Sunnafrank pitched two scoreless innings to close the game. He also had two hits for the Sox (10-8), along with Russell Clark.

John Goodrich doubled twice for the Kings (6-11).

Butler will look to snap a 3-game losing streak when it hosts Danville on Thursday.
