BlueSox get 4th straight victory
The Butler offense is rolling.
A night after scoring 10 runs in a win over Lafeyette (Ind.), the BlueSox bats were at it again in a 13-5 win over the Aviators Thursday night.
Will Schneider continued his torrid streak with three more hits. He now has 21 hits in his first eight games in a BlueSox uniform.
Nick Stotler went 3-for-6 with three RBI, Tyler Niemann 3-for-5 with two RBI and Garret Verbanic 3-for-5 with an RBI in the rout.
Butler led 8-0 after 6 1/2 innings before Lafeyette scored three in the bottom of the seventh and two more in the bottom of the eighth to cut the lead to 8-5.
The BlueSox (9-5), though, scored five runs in the top of the ninth to put the game out of reach.
Pavin Parks picked up the win, striking out nine in 6 2/3 innings of work.
Butler has now won four straight games and has scored 36 runs during that streak, including three games of 10 or more runs scored.
