BlueSox capture road win

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A five-run sixth inning sparked the Butler BlueSox to a 9-6 Prospect League baseball victory Thursday night at Chillicothe.

On the short end of a 3-2 score entering the frame, Butler third baseman Danny Hrbek got things going with a one-out single.

Will Schneider drove Hrbek in with a triple and Dalton Hoiles hit a two-run home run later in the inning.

Butler never relinquished the lead as Tyler Sullivan, Hrbek and Hoiles paced the team’s 14 hit-attack with three hits apiece.

Pavin Parks was the winning pitcher despite allowing four earned runs on six hits in six innings of work.

Chillicothe (2-5) tallied 12 hits against a trio of Sox hurlers, which included relievers Carter Krick and Kyle Zurak.

The BlueSox trailed 3-0 before plating a pair of runs in the fourth frame.

Butler (4-3) hosts Champion City tonight at 7:05 p.m.
