Extended-stay hotel planned in Cranberry
CRANBERRY TWP — Plans are moving ahead for an extended-stay hotel proposed as part of the Village at Cranberry Woods development.
A Homewood Suites by Hilton is proposed for 3.4 vacant acres between Longtree Way and Route 228.
The final land development application for the property was reviewed Tuesday by the planning advisory commission.
The proposal is for a four-story, 100,282 square-foot hotel with 116 rooms.
The township supervisors will discuss the plans Feb. 28 and will consider their approval the following week, said Ron Henshaw, planning and development services director.
Henshaw said he did not know the developer’s timeline for completion, but if approved by the supervisors, the company can file permits and begin construction this spring.
Homewood Suites is for guests with longer stays and offers amenities such as full kitchens, according to Hilton Worldwide’s website.
There are 365 locations in North America.
This is not the only extended-stay hotel planned in the township.
A 122-room Woodspring Suites on Wisconsin Avenue behind Rite Aid was approved last year and is expected to begin construction this year.
