Geyer lead in GOP race now down to 1 vote
Kim Geyer remains a Republican candidate for Butler County commissioner, but only by a single vote.
The county elections board this afternoon considered provisional ballots from the May 19 primary.
After reviewing a number of those ballots, Bob O'Neil picked up one vote on Geyer. He was two votes back before the meeting.
They are locked in a race for the second spot on the Republican ballot for commissioner in the Nov. 3 election.
Now the elections board will met again at 9 a.m. Friday to reconsider several other contested GOP ballots.
So votes approved by the board at that meeting may decide if Geyer will win out over O'Neil.
The top spot on the GOP ticket for commissioner is held by Leslie Osche.
The second place finisher will run with her in November to face Democrats Jerry Johnston and Kevin Boozel.
