How many people know that most servers and bartenders are paid $2.83 per hour or less?
None of these people makes even minimum wage.
Each time I see the workers from McDonalds picketing about their wages I think about these other workers who never get a raise. When the minimum wage went up, it did not change their wages at all. As a matter of fact their wages have not changed in 22 years.
These people depend on the tips their customers give them to make even minimum wage per hour. If you have a good server, let them know by tipping them. If you had a bad server either talk to them or the manager about it.
A 15 percent tip is normal but if you have a server who goes beyond the normal call of duty, tip more.
