'Moon' tickets available

Tickets for Butler Little Theatre's production of “King O' the Moon” will be available to members Tuesday and Wednesday and the to the general public beginning Sept. 25.

The sequel to “Over the Tavern” will be presented Oct. 3 to 5 and 7 to 11 at the theater at One Howard St.

Curtain is at 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Art awards presented

Sylvia Neubert won Best of Show and Mark Anderson took home the Theme Award at the recent Saxonburg Festival of the Arts. The theme for the fine arts contest this year was transportation.

3 local artists take part in ArtPrize event

Three Butler area artists are returning to the ArtPrize competition this year in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Tom Panei and Bill Secunda, both of Butler, and Dennis Keyes of Karns City will vie for prizes that include a $200,000 Public Vote Award and a $200,000 Juried Award. Other cash prizes will be awarded as well.

The three also competed in the ArtPrize contest last year, and Secunda was part of the show for several years before that.

More than 1,500 artists will display their work at 174 venues this year.

Round one voting takes place Sept. 24 through Oct. 4. Round two voting follows. For information, visit artprize.org.

Fall Gas Up scheduledTITUSVILLE — Drake Well Museum will host its 30th annual Fall Gas Up on Saturday, sponsored by the Pioneer Steam and Gas Engine Society.Displays will include operating and stationary antique engines, farm and oil field equipment, cars, trucks and models.The Fall Gas Up is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is included in the museum's regular admission fees of $10 for ages 12 to 64, $8 for senior citizens age 65 and older, $5 for ages 3 to 11, and free for children younger than 3 and active military and their families.The museum is at 202 Museum Lane.
