Jail, fine, restitution given in arson case
The second man convicted in a felony arson case was sentenced today to a 5-to-10-month prison sentence.
However, Jason Lee Roberts, 28, of Butler may not spend much more time in Butler County Prison.
Judge Timothy McCune granted Roberts credit for the 298 days he already served in jail.
Roberts also was ordered to serve a year’s probation and 50 hours of community service, as well as pay a $100 fine and $974 in restitution.
The other defendant in the case, Matthew A. Wolfe, 31, also of Butler, was sentenced earlier this month to serve 3 to 6 months in prison followed by 2 years’ probation along with fines and restitution.
The men were convicted of setting the entrance to an apartment at 313 W. Jefferson St. on fire about 3 a.m. Oct. 25.
