Man injured after plane crash at Grove City Airport



SPRINGFIELD TWP, Mercer County — A small experimental plane crashed at the Grove City Airport this morning.
The pilot, who received minor injuries, was flown by helicopter to a hospital.
Heidi Ahlgrim, airport manager, said the plane came down off the runway, but on the airport’s property about 11 a.m. She said she did not know what caused the crash or how high off the ground the plane was when it began to go down.
Ahlgrim did not know the pilot’s name.
The Springfield Township Volunteer Fire Department and Superior Ambulance also responded to the crash.
Ahlgrim said the crash was cleaned up quickly and the airport’s operations were back to normal by noon.
