Slippery Rock man charged in heroin drug death
A Slipery Rock man is facing several charges after supplying fentanyl-laced heroin to a 21-year-old girl who overdosed and died in February.
The state police Thursday charged Shayne William Emery, 31, with counts of drug delivery resulting in death, criminal conspiracy and possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.
The charges stem from the death of former Worth Township resident Brittany Hays, who died on Feb. 2 after consuming the tainted heroin. Hay's mother found her in a locked bathroom with four used bags of heroin, a needle and a spoon laying next to her body.
