Fire damages township home
PENN TWP — A township home in the 100 block of Beacon Light Road caught fire Friday night.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene shortly after 8:30 p.m. on reports of a structure fire.
When firefighters arrived, the home was already fully engulfed in flames, according to 911 dispatch reports.
The Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department was in command of the scene.
The roof of the home, which was surrounded by trees, caved in as a result of the blaze.
There were no injuries.
Reportedly, two people who lived there escaped unharmed.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the family living there, according to dispatch reports.
All units were clear from the scene by 1:15 a.m.
Township firefighters returned to the scene Saturday morning to put out a few remaining hot spots.
Fire Chief Jeff Crede could not be reached for comment.
