6:45 p.m. Thursday — Bobby Joe Stewart, 28, was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, 28-year-old Christy Achatz, during a domestic dispute at their home in the 500 block of West Cunningham Street.Stewart is accused of hitting Achatz in the face, grabbing her hair and striking her head off the side of the house. Police said she suffered minor injuries.The defendant was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment on a charge of simple assault.

4:06 p.m. Wednesday — Emily Christensen, 20, of Butler was hurt when the car she was driving struck the rear of another car on New Castle Road in front of the Butler Crossing shopping plaza.The collision forced the second car, driven by Caleb Stein, 20, of Meadville, Crawford County, into the back of a third car driven by Krystal Myers, 26, of Butler.Christensen was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Police cited her for driving at an unsafe speed.Monday — Steven H. Dittmer, 37, of Lyndora was arraigned on charges he illegally tried to buy a gun last year at Walmart in Butler Commons.According to court documents, Dittmer allegedly made false statements — including about his criminal record — on a federal form he completed on June 20 to buy the gun.Dittmer is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor. He is free on his own recognizance.

10:19 p.m. Wednesday — A 49-year-old man who police did not identify was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Carlynn Drive in Butler Township. A police report said the man was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test and charges are pending the toxicology results.12:18 a.m. Sunday — Philip E. Benson, 43, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on North Main Street just south of the Get-Go convenience store in Butler Township.March 11 — A Sony flat-screen television was stolen in a burglary at a home in the Lake Arthur Estates trailer park on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township. The TV, valued at $345, was taken between Jan. 6 and March 11.
