JEFFERSON TWP — Dr. Lewis R. Kline is the medical director for the pulmonary rehabilitation program at Concordia Visiting Nurses, announced president and CEO Martin Trettel.
Kline of Cheswick comes to Concordia with nearly 30 years' experience specializing in pulmonary diseases.
He is a graduate of Penn State University School of Medicine and has worked for several institutions, including Temple University and University of Pittsburgh Schools of Medicine. He also helped establish the Center for Sleep Disorders in Philadelphia.
He is the medical director of Sleep Medicine at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Butler Memorial Hospital, Allegheny Valley Hospital and Lifeline Sleep Disorders Centers.

STATE COLLEGE — The Pennsylvania Bar Association this past week presented three awards to the Butler County Bar Association at the 48th annual Seminar of the Conference of County Bar Leaders.The county association was one of 25 associations honored for projects that improve the legal profession, justice system or community. The programs were:• An educational workshop, “Think Like a Bad Guy,” which was for lawyers and the public. It included discussions about self-protection, gun law, gun safety, and practical information on understanding conflict and approaches to manage confrontation.• “Coffee with the Judges” was a forum that brought lawyers together with judges and heads of the court offices for monthly discussions.• The Young Lawyers Division raised more than $600 last year for the Children and Youth Backpack Program, and it also provided money and gifts for multiple CYS and Victim Outreach Intervention Center families.
WARREN — FirstEnergy Corp. has sold the Kinzua Dam system in northwestern Pennsylvania along with 10 other hydroelectric power stations to a subsidiary of a New York-based power company.Akron, Ohio-based FirstEnergy sold the plants for $395 million to Harbor Hydro Holdings, LLC. Harbor Hydro is a subsidiary of LS Power Equity Partners II of New York City.The companies said in a joint release that employees of the Kinzua system will be retained by the new owner.
