Police identify crew from wrecked ambulance

BUTLER TWP — Township police have identified the people involved in an ambulance accident on Route 8 Thursday morning.

The Lifestat Ambulance was transporting a 14-year-old Butler patient when it lost control and slammed into a guardrail along Armco Hill at about 7:45 a.m., police report.

The patient’s nurse, Kelly Berie, unknown age, was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital for minor head and neck injuries.

Lifestat employee Jennifer Moslander, 29, of McKeesport complained of head and neck injuries, but refused medical treatment. The driver of the vehicle, Edward Moslander, 26, also of McKeesport, was not injured.

Butler Ambulance Service was called to treat and examine the Lifestat crew.

The patient, who was en route to a Pittsburgh hospital, was taken away in another ambulance, authorities said.

Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe and South Butler Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the scene with traffic control.

Traffic in the southbound lane, meanwhile, was backed up close to the Greater Butler Mart following the wreck.
