Police: Truck driver sought in Pa. captured
MORGANTOWN, Pa. — Authorities say they have arrested a tractor-trailer driver who allegedly drove away from an eastern Pennsylvania traffic stop with a trooper clinging to the truck’s cab.
Police in Berks County said 56-year-old Harold A. Davis Jr. was taken into custody this morning several miles from where the incident occurred.
Troopers from the Morgantown barracks say Davis drove through a truck inspection detail on Interstate 176 after a check of his license showed that he was wanted on a robbery warrant from Florida.
They say he drove about three miles at relatively low speeds as the trooper hung onto the cab, onto which he had climbed to speak with Davis. The truck crashed after other troopers shot at the tires, and Davis fled into the woods.
