Steelers close to acquiring offensive tackle Levi Brown
PITTSBURGH — The Steelers reportedly are close to acquiring tackle Levi Brown from the Arizona Cardinals to bolster their offensive line.
Various national sports websites this morning are reporting the deal is close to being finalized. One report said Brown first must pass a physical exam to cap the deal.
The websites also report the Steelers may have to restructure its payroll to get Brown and stay under the league’s salary cap.
Brown reportedly will compete with Mike Adams for a starting job.
Brown has a five-year, $30-million contract with the Cardinals the Steelers may have to pay.
There was no news about what, if anything, the Steelers will have to give up.
