Bomb threat cancels events at Mars High School
ADAMS TWP — All Thursday evening activities are canceled at Mars High School because of a bomb threat, according to the district's website.
A two-hour delay with modified kindergarten will be in place Friday because of the bomb threat to the high school, the website said. High School students who drive should not report until 10 a.m.
The delay in the morning will allow police and the Allegheny County bomb squad ample time to do a sweep of the building, according to district spokesman Josh Schwoebel.
He said the threat indicated a bomb would go off at 9:28 a.m. Friday. Schwoebel said he did not know how the threat was received by school officials.
Thursday's threat comes just three weeks after a similar threat forced the evacuation of the high school. A female student at the school was arrested in connection with that incident.
