May 11 Day of Giving benefits arts groups
Five arts groups from Butler County can benefit from the Pittsburgh Is Art Day of Giving on May 11.
Among the 135 organizations registered to participate are the Associated Artists of Butler County, Blazing Star Choral Group, Butler County Historical Society, Strand Theater Initiative and Butler County Symphony Association.
The Pittsburgh Is Art Day of Giving is a 24-hour donation match campaign for the region’s arts and cultural organizations.
The Heinz Endowments and other local foundations are funding a pro-rated match pool of up to $500,000 for this campaign.
The minimum donation is $15 and can be made by visiting the website, www.pittsburghgives.org, and giving to one of the organizations.
Arts and cultural organizations from Allegheny, Fayette, Indiana, Washington and Westmoreland counties also are participating.
The goal of Pittsburgh Is Art Day of Giving is to attract new individual donors and draw attention to the region’s arts community.
