Violet F. Rieck

Violet F. Rieck, 79, of Middlesex Township died Sunday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh, May 9, 1925, she was the daughter of Charles and Kathern Ziegler Flaig.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mars. She also belonged to Baker Trail 180 in Kittanning, the Commandry of Knights Templar 87 in Butler and the Mars American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Herman W. Rieck, whom she married June 15, 1946; two daughters, Mrs. Daryl (Karen) Boocks of McMurray and Mrs. James (Jeanne) Brady of Cochranton; two sons, Richard Rieck of Dellroy, Ohio, and Edward Rieck of Butler; and a sister, Mrs. Henry (Virginia) Burchardt of Evans City. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A brother preceded her in death.

RIECK - Friends of Violet F. Rieck, who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at McDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Rigg, her church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Glade Run Cemetery, Middlesex Township.Memorial donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Beaver Street, Mars, PA 16046.
