Douglas T. Dickey

Douglas Troy Dickey, 45, of Slippery Rock died at 3:34 p.m. Sunday at United Community Hospital, Grove City, after a 19-month illness

Born in Grove City, Dec. 11, 1959, he was the son of Bruce Archie and M. Joan Bollinger Dickey

He was a member of the Slippery Rock Baptist Church and the Grove City Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed riding 4-wheelers.

Mr. Dickey was employed at Jacobs Applied Technology of Charleston, S.C., until January 2004. Immediately after high school and prior to working at Jacobs, he had worked at One Way Welding, Adobe Mining, Wack Manufacturing and Barry Metal.

Surviving are his parents of Slippery Rock; three sisters, Sherree Lynn Hack and her husband, George, of Mercer, Dawn Louise Staph and her husband, Joseph, of Slippery Rock and Karen Joan Finnegan and her husband, Thomas, of Mercer; a brother, Daryl B. Dickey of Slippery Rock; and several nieces and nephews.

His grandparents preceded him in death

DICKEY - Friends of Douglas Troy Dickey, who died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday atSMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Slippery Rock Baptist Church, 435 Keister Road, Slippery Rock, with the Rev. David Barnhouse officiating. Burial will be at West Liberty Cemetery.
