PETA truck coming to Butler to protest Wienermobile, not welcome at ice festival
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has announced plans to protest the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile’s presence in Butler Saturday, but the truck will not be allowed into the downtown Carved in Ice event, according to the event organizers.
PETA’s “Hell on Wheels” truck is a a vehicle designed to simulate the sights and sounds of pigs headed to slaughter.
“PETA’s ‘Hell on Wheels’ truck is an appeal to everyone to be kind by choosing tasty vegan meals, including delicious Oscar Mayer veggie dogs — and PETA is ready to help with free vegan starter kits, recipes and tips,” PETA president Tracy Reiman said.
Organizers of the ice festival made clear Friday that the PETA truck will not be permitted to park in the designated event area for Carved in Ice.
