The Mars New Year Countdown Breakfast will be held Monday, Feb. 23, at the Regional Learning Alliance in nearby Cranberry Woods.
Attendees will have the chance to meet Catherine Regan, a scientist from West Virginia University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy, who is currently shaping our understanding of the solar system and planetary exploration.
The event expects at least 100 students from area schools to participate.
“This annual event is helping to point us toward another Mars New Year Festival in the summer of 2027 in Mars, Pa.,” a news release said.
Jeff Beckstead, with the Mars Robotics Association, and Gregg Hartung, mayor of Mars, are coordinating the event.
