Leanna Wilson
Leanna Dawn Wilson, of Butler, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, in Panama, following a traffic accident.
She was born in Springfield, Mo., on Dec. 11, 1974, to Gregory and Carol (Braden) Wilson.
Leanna was a 1993 graduate of Oxon Hill High School, Md. She was also a 1997 graduate of Roanoke College, with honors. During her college education, Leanna enlisted in the Army as a watercraft operator at Fort Belvoir, Va. In 1998, Ms. Wilson became a police officer in Fairfax County, Va. She retired in 2018.
Leanna's passions were always family first, trout fishing, dogs and spending winters in tropical locations. She fostered dogs at the Butler County Humane Society and helped organize, feed and distribute items to North Carolina families following Hurricane Helene.
Ms. Wilson was preceded in death by her grandparents and her brother, Jarrod Wilson.
She is survived by her mother and father, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. Of particular importance is Chad Moore, a nephew in West Middlesex, Pa.
Leanna will always be remembered as kind and adventurous, fearless and determined.
WILSON — Visitation for Leanna Dawn Wilson, who died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, 201 Wayne Ave., Parker, with a funeral service following at 1 p.m.
Private interment will be at North Butler Presbyterian Cemetery.
