Police: Woman stole from Grove City library nonprofit
A Grove City woman is accused of stealing more than $9,000 from a nonprofit affiliated with the Grove City Community Library.
Meghann Anne Rigney, 45, was charged Thursday, Oct. 9, with one felony count each of theft, access device fraud, receiving stolen property and criminal use of a communication facility, and misdemeanor misapplication of entrusted property following a Sept. 3 report of missing funds.
The report was made by representatives of the library and nonprofit Friends of the Grove City Library for unauthorized withdraws from the nonprofit’s bank account at Grove City Area Federal Credit Union.
Police said Rigney transferred $9,450 from the nonprofit’s bank account to a personal PayPal account between March and July.
Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. Oct. 29 before District Judge Douglas Straub.
