Police reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Adams Twp

July 10 — Emily M. Palermo, 37, of Mars, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of controlled substance possession and one misdemeanor count each of drug paraphernalia possession, marijuana possession and DUI following a May 1 traffic stop. Police said Palermo had two marijuana joints, a bag containing marijuana, two orange Adderall tablets, a Xannax bar and a glass tube that appeared to store marijuana joints.

July 12 — Jordan M. Truman, 38, of Mars, was charged with felony retail theft following a July 12 incident. Police said Truman stole two Monster energy drinks and a jug of chocolate milk.

Butler Twp

July 8 — Buster F. Harper, 48, of Pittsburgh, was charged with felony strangulation and misdemeanor simple assault following a July 7 incident. Police said Harper punched and strangled a woman.

July 8 — Kevin S. Jackson, 38, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct following a July 8 incident. Police said Jackson was reportedly attempting to open vehicles on the street.

July 8 — Jennifer A. Flick, 45, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault following a June 11 incident. Police said Flick shoved a woman into a wall twice.

July 9 — John Marten, 63, of Butler, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of theft and criminal mischief following a July 3 incident. Police said Marten stole and burned a tenant’s property.

July 9 — David B. Giesler, 65, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor theft following a June 23 incident. Police said Giesler rented equipment for $302.10 and did not return it.

July 9 — Diane C. Ratay, 63, of Evans City, was charged with two felony counts of retail theft and misdemeanor trespass following a July 1 incident. Police said Ratay stole $37.10 in merchandise from Walmart and scanned items using counterfeit labels.

July 10 — Michael J. Buzas, 63, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest following a July 9 incident. Police said Buzas tucked his arms under his chest while police attempted to put him into handcuffs.

July 10 — Donald E. Vargo, 51, of Butler, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of DUI, controlled substance possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a June 23 crash. Police said Vargo had a clear bag of suspected crack cocaine and showed signs of impairment.

July 15 — Police investigated a reported motor vehicle theft on Colonial Avenue and charged a 15-year-old boy. The vehicle was recovered in Butler.

Cranberry Twp

July 10 — Ann J. Mirosavich, 44, of Cranberry Township, was charged with seven misdemeanor counts of theft following incidents between May 17 and July 5. Police said Mirosavich put fake Target merchandise tags on items and returned them to the store.

July 10 — Adrian Q. Nicelli, 24, of Lyndora, was charged with misdemeanor accident involving damage following an April 9 crash. Police said Nicelli’s vehicle rear-ended another vehicle and left the scene.

State police, Butler

June 17 — Police investigated a hit-and-run crash on Main Street in Petrolia. Police said a Subaru Legacy backed into the Subaru XV Crosstrek of Hadley A. Pletcher, 18, of Bruin, and left the scene.

July 2 — Police investigated a two-vehicle crash on Route 422 in Franklin Township. Police found Angelina M. Dioguardi, 18, of Beaver Falls, pulled into an intersection in a Dodge Ram 2500 without yielding to traffic and was struck by a Ford Escape driven by David L. Walowen, 58, of Butler. Walowen was treated by Butler Ambulance Service and transported to Butler Memorial Hospital. Dioguardi had a possible injury but refused transport.

July 4 — Police investigated a hit-and-run crash on West Sunbury Road in Clay Township. Police said a vehicle attempting to pass struck the Chevrolet Equinox of Thor C. Zednik, 42, of Gibsonia, and left the scene.

July 9 — Jonathan M. Deal, 39, of McMurray, was charged with felony theft following a July 8 incident. Police said Deal stole a check worth $160,478.90 from a man.

July 9 — Michael A. Cain, 44, of Cabot, was charged with three misdemeanor DUI counts following a Jan. 22 crash in Jefferson Township. Police said Cain tested positive for THC and had a blood alcohol content of 0.207%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.

July 10 — Richard J. Bosco, 52, of Freeport, was charged with misdemeanor harassment following a June 2 incident in Clearfield Township. Police said Bosco sent more than 150 emails and texts with threatening messages to a woman.

July 14 — James R. Burcham Jr., 32, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession following a May 26 traffic stop in Summit Township. Police said Burcham had a marijuana cigarette.

July 14 — Keira A. Behun-Sporny, 20, of Cranberry Township, was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession following a May 24 incident in Donegal Township. Police said Behun-Sporny had two green zip bags containing suspected marijuana.

July 14 — Charles L. Henry, 60, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor controlled substance possession following a July 11 incident in Center Township. Police said Henry had a small plastic container of methamphetamine.
