Rt. 422 resurfacing starting April 3 in Armstrong County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will begin on April 3 to resurface a portion of Route 422 in Manor and Rayburn townships, Armstrong County, and announced that there will be lane closures during the project.

According to a Monday, March 27, news release from PennDOT, the project involves resurfacing Route 422 to include the milling of existing asphalt, patching and paving leveling. Additionally, there will be minor drainage and guardrail upgrades and other miscellaneous construction. The project extends from the Graff Bridge eastbound/westbound intersection to the Route 28/85/1038 intersection.

The contractor will be setting long-term lane closures at 7 a.m. April 3. There will be multiple phases throughout the length of the project, with lane closures alternating between the lanes both eastbound and westbound. There also will be several weekend ramp closures with associated detours throughout the project as work progresses, the news release said.

The contractor, Derry Construction of Latrobe, will be completing this $14.2 million project with an expected completion date in November, according to the news release.
