Kozarian homer wins game for SRU

SLIPPERY ROCK — Jon Kozarian hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday to give the Slippery Rock University baseball team an 8-6 win over Frostburg State on Wednesday at Critchfield Park.

The Rock improved to 10-4 on the season while Frostburg State slipped to 9-9.

SRU trailed by as many as four runs early in the game before rallying for victory. Joey Purcell singled to start The Rock ninth inning before Kozarian hit his home run. Kozarian had three RBI and two hits in the game.

Koby Bubash had three RBI for SRU while Purcell and Luke Trueman also had two hits. Jake Norris, the seventh Rock pitcher, tossed a scoreless ninth for his first win at The Rock.

SRU returns to action Friday, hosting Mercyhurst in a doubleheader.
