Police Reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:

Buffalo Twp

Jan. 10 — Christa D. Knox, 45, of Sarver, was charged with misdemeanors of driving under the influence and drug possession. Police said she crashed her vehicle on Ekastown Road, and that she showed signs of impairment.

Butler City

Jan. 11 — Richard D. Salada, 60, of Butler, was charged with a misdemeanor DUI. Police said they stopped him on South Main Street, and that field sobriety tests showed he was impaired. A later blood test showed Salada’s blood-alcohol content at 0.184% In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Jan. 11 — Calib J. Newman, 37, of Chicora, was charged with eluding police and several traffic citations. Police said Newman did not comply with a traffic stop, was speeding, and ran a stop sign before fleeing officers on-foot.

Butler Twp

Jan. 20 — Brendan Linton, 27, of Butler, was charged with disorderly conduct and several traffic citations, and James Smith, 29, of Butler, was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment and littering, following an incident on Route 68 near Artlee Avenue. Police said Linton was impeding traffic and failed to move his bicycle over, and Smith threw a liquid-filled bottle at Linton while he was riding his bike.

Jan. 9 — Austin C. Lasher, 28, of Rural Valley, was charged with misdemeanor theft. Police said he left Walmart with $165 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

Cranberry Twp

Jan. 11 — Carson D. Durron, 41, of Cleveland, Ohio, was charged with felonies conspiracy and two counts of theft. Police said he left Best Buy with $2,595 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

Jan. 11 — James A. Carroll III, 23, of Mars, was charged with misdemeanor property damage. Police said he was involved in a vehicle crash Dec. 9 on Route 228, and that he fled the scene without exchanging information. He also is a DUI suspended driver, according to police.

Penn Twp

Jan. 12 — Donald T. Kuminkoski, 65, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment. Police said he yelled obscenities at his neighbors and shot at them.

Slippery Rock University

Jan. 9 — Kaden Y. Scherer, 19, of Petrolia, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs. Police said they stopped him Jan. 1 on Service Drive, Slippery Rock Borough. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later breath test showed Scherer’s blood-alcohol content at 0.122%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

State police, Butler

Jan. 19 — Gerald Volpe Jr., 49, of New Castle, Lawrence County, was charged with misdemeanor DUI and several traffic citations. Police said he crashed his vehicle Dec. 17 on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township.

Jan. 10 — Bruce A. Hall, 64, was charged with misdemeanors DUI, false identification and several traffic citations. Police said they stopped him Jan. 9 on Pittsburgh Road, Penn Township. Police said he showed signs of impairment and misidentified himself to officers.

Jan. 10 — Scott M. Lipinski, 54, of Petrolia, was charged with a misdemeanor DUI. Police said they stopped him Jan. 6 on Kittanning Pike, Fairview Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired.

Jan. 9 — Bryan J. Fry, 28, of Chicora, was charged with two misdemeanor DUIs and two counts of misdemeanor use and possession of drugs after police said he crashed his vehicle Jan. 7 in Concord Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed traces of THC. Police said a vehicle search revealed two bags of suspected marijuana, three boxes of THC oil, a THC burning kit with residue, a glass smoking pipe, a digital pocket scale, a grinder and four bottles with cannabis residue.

State Police, Mercer

Jan. 19 — Jack Nevels Jr., 34, of Pittsburgh, was charged with misdemeanor DUI and several traffic citations. Police said they stopped him March 21 on Interstate 79, Lancaster Township.

Zelienople

Jan. 12 — Justin L. Yanssens, 42, of Fombell, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. Police said he spit on someone and sent threatening text messages to them.
