Police Reports

These items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler

12:11 p.m. May 4 — Lisa D. Hockenberry, 55, of Butler, was arrested and charged with felony vehicle theft and misdemeanor reckless endangerment after an incident involving her landlord’s truck.

Police said the landlord spotted Hockenberry driving his truck without permission, and when he confronted her about it, she drove away, running a red light and dragging him several feet in the intersection. Police said a witness blocked Hockberry’s escape with his vehicle. Hockenberry remained at the scene and talked with officers.

May 4 — Denise M. Stepankow, 49, of Clarksburg, W.Va., was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to an April 24 report of a PFA violation on Cottage Hill Street.

Police said an ex-boyfriend told officers Stepankow was sitting in her vehicle outside his house. Police said when they approached the vehicle, they saw empty beer bottles inside, and field sobriety tests showed she was impaired. Police said a later breath test confirmed her blood-alcohol content was high enough for the charges, but the specific blood-alcohol content was unavailable in court documents. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

1:39 a.m. April 30 — Justin M. Crispin, 31, of Clinton Township, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest and summary counts of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct related to a report of an unresponsive man sitting in a vehicle outside the Eau Claire Street Cafe.

Police said they found Crispin slumped over in the passenger seat of his car, and while waiting for a ride, he yelled profanities at officers. Police said they then arrested him for public drunkenness, and he resisted orders at the station when asked to take off his boots and jacket.

Middlesex Twp

May 2 — Timothy J. Klabnik, 41, of Butler Township, was charged with misdemeanor DUI following a reported crash with a deer on the 100 block of Dinnerbell Road.

Police said while at the scene they discovered Klabnik had stopped to assist those involved in the collision with the deer, and he appeared to be drunk. Police said they did not conduct field sobriety tests after Klabnik explained his medical conditions, but a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at .278%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is .08%.

State Police, Butler

May 2 — Andrew J. Moser, 35, of Evans City, was charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from a traffic stop in the Pilot Travel Center parking lot, Muddy Creek Township.

Police stopped the vehicle for making unsignaled lane changes and crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Moser was impaired, and a later blood test showed fentanyl, methadone and benoylecgonine in his system, as well as a blood alcohol content at .067%.

May 2 — Brian J. Miller, 49, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor counts of drug and paraphernalia possession stemming from an April 27 traffic stop on Route 8, Brady Township.

Police stopped the vehicle for a broken brake light and later found Miller’s license was suspended. Police said Miller possessed a bundle — 10 stamp bags — of suspected heroin, as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

April 27 — Rachel C. Braham, 42, of Mercer, was charged with misdemeanor DUI stemming from a Nov. 24 traffic stop on Route 422, Prospect.

Police stopped the vehicle for speeding at 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police said field sobriety tests showed she was impaired, and a later drug recognition evaluation determined Braham was under the influence of a drug. Police said Braham later refused to have her blood tested.

Jackson Twp

April 27 — James A. Jones Jr., 44, of New Galilee, was charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and possessing stolen property related to a chainsaw.

Police said Jones’ employer contacted police after Jones failed to return a chainsaw he borrowed.
