Anniversary: Genaway
Dan and Carol Genaway of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage Dec. 4, 2021, with a family dinner at Mac’s Route 8 Cafe in Butler with many family members traveling from Wisconsin and Ohio.
Genaway married the former Carol Churchill on Dec. 2, 1961, at the Methodist Church in Berlin Heights, Ohio.
They have four children, Steven Genaway of Chicora, Russell Genaway of West Sunbury, Thomas Genaway of Prospect, and Andrew Genaway of West Sunbury.
They also have 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Genaway retired from II-VI Inc. where he worked for more than 30 years in material procurement and inspection.
He was a member of the Butler County Horseshoe League for more than 20 years, played NHPA (horseshoes) for five years and was a member of the Allegheny Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club for 16 years.
Mrs.Genaway retired after being a cake decorator and baker for 28 years and the owner of Carol’s Cake Corner for 11 years.
She is an avid gardener with her own greenhouse and grows annuals and perennials from seed and enjoys growing heirloom plants and making flower arrangements.
The Genaways enjoy going on bus trips, gardening and spending time with their family.
