The following defendants were sentenced Wednesday in Butler County Common Pleas Court by Judge Kelley T. Streib.

John Steven Placek Jr., 43, of Worthington, was sentenced to serve 18 to 66 months in state prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of possession of heroin with intent to deliver filed by state police on Nov. 3, 2020.

Richard Allen Stepp Jr., 41, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 12 to 72 months in prison, but was immediately paroled to an inpatient drug and alcohol treatment center after pleading guilty to charges in eight criminal cases dating to 2018. He was sentenced to six to 12 months in prison concurrently in four theft cases and consecutively to a six to 60-month prison sentence for his second driving under the influence offense. He was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine for the DUI case. He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine for his first DUI offense. He was given no further penalty after pleading guilty to two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia filed in two cases. He was ordered to pay $59.97 in restitution to Walmart in one of the theft cases. He was given credit for time already served in prison.

Michael Joseph Demari Garth, 21, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay a $1,000 fine and perform 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance. He also was sentenced to six months of probation consecutively and 25 hours of community service after pleading guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. State police filed the charges in July.

Ralph R. Scott, 47, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation and pay a $50 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by state police in August after an incident in March. A charge of driving without a license was dismissed.

Devan James Logue, 20, of Chicora, was sentenced to serve of six months of probation, including 14 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay a $1,000 fine and complete eight hours of litter pickup after pleading guilty to his first DUI offense. After pleading guilty to his second DUI, he was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 120 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay a $1,500 fine and perform 40 hours of community service. The sentences run concurrently. He also was ordered to pay more than $28,000 in restitution. State police filed charges in both cases.

Domenic Scarpone, 58, of Turtle Creek, was sentenced to pay a $200 fine and $8,176 in restitution after pleading guilty to summary traffic violations of accidents involving an unattended vehicle and driving with a suspended license filed by Cranberry Township police in July 2020.

Shad Joseph Bailey, 43, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation, including 14 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his first DUI offense. State police filed the charge in June.

Arthur B. Warsing, 53, of Chicora, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his first DUI offense. State police filed the charge in November 2020.

Victoria Margaret Baptiste, 34, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance filed by Butler Township police in July 2020.
