Police make drug bust in Zelienople

Nicholas W. Decampli

Two Zelienople men are facing drug distribution charges after police say they were found with thousands of dollars in cash, heroin and marijuana in their home.

Domenick W. Decampli, 67, and Nicholas W. Decampli, 34, were each charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communications facility, as well as two misdemeanor counts each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Nicholas Decampli was also charged with an additional felony possession with intent count.

The charges stem from a search warrant executed on Nov. 14 that was issued on the Decampli home in the 400 block of W. New Castle St., Zelienople, following an ongoing investigation by the state Office of the Attorney General Bureau of Narcotics Investigations.

Both Domenick and Nicholas Decampli were at the home at the time of the warrant, and the affidavit of probable cause states that several items were found as a result.

Inside Nicholas Decampli’s bedroom, the document states that $22,100 in cash was found under the bed, $1,536 in cash on a shelf, a glass jar of marijuana next to the money, a notebook with a drug distribution business plan and outstanding debts next to the cash beneath the bed and a shoebox containing about 50 stamp bags of heroin and empty heroin bags and paraphernalia on the bedroom floor.

The document states that eight individually wrapped plastic bags of marijuana and an electronic scale were found in a dresser drawer of Domenick Decampli’s bedroom.

Five cell phones and about 12 pounds of marijuana were also found in a storage tote and cooler in the garage, the document states.
