There have been negative letters to the editor about mail delivery persons neglecting to pick up outgoing mail from mailboxes if none is being delivered. Not so of my letter carrier who delivers in our area of North Road from Reiber Road north to Unionville Road.

My letter carrier, who always smiles and is always courteous, checks for outgoing mail even though I do not have a red flag mailbox, and even when he doesn't have mail to deliver.

He delivers packages to my door if they don't fit into the mailbox and is comically startled when approached unexpectedly while intent on what he is doing.
