Fire crew extricates victim
BUTLER TWP — A Butler woman was trapped in a vehicle for 45 minutes early this morning after it hit a utility pole along Fairground Hill Road.
A South Butler Volunteer Fire Department crew extricated Julia Warden, 22, from the wreckage in front of Family Bowlaway.
She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and released.
Township police report the vehicle, which was driven by Jesse Fechter, 23, of Saxonburg, was eastbound when it left the road at 2:39 a.m.
Police said speed was a factor in the accident.
The road was closed for several hours while Allegheny Power repaired the utility pole.
