Judith Hoffman

Judith Ann Hoffman, 67, of Roher Road, Slippery Rock West Liberty, died at 10:53 p.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital after a four-month illness.

Born in Duluth, Minn., Jan. 10, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Peder P. Eide and Elizabeth Josephine Fiefarek.

She married Kenneth Klett Hoffman on July 25, 1964. He died Nov. 6, 2005.

She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1959, and she graduated from Thiel College in Greenville in 1963. She received a master's degree in education from the University of Minnesota.

She was secretary/treasurer for West Liberty for 22 years. She also had been a tax consultant for H&R Block in Butler for 10 years. She was a former school teacher at Laurel School District for seven years, where she taught Spanish and business.

She was a Lutheran.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, computer games, gardening and bird watching.

Surviving are two sons, Douglas Klett Hoffman of Fredericksburg, Va., and Gregory Keith Hoffman of Prospect; two brothers, Frank Johnston of Conneaut Lake and Thomas Eide of Kenosha, Wis.

<B>HOFFMAN</B> — Visitation for Judith Ann Hoffman, who died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, Butler, or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
