Dorothy Williams Daubenspeck

Dorothy Williams Daubenspeck, 88, of Lafayette Apartments, died Friday at Sunnyview Home following a brief illness.

Born Feb. 20, 1917, in Butler and raised in the Woodbine area, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Weiland Williams.

She retired from Heckett Engineering and had loved sewing and quilting.

She was the widow of Elgin C. "Ike" Daubenspeck, who died Nov. 2, 1970.

She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Daubenspeck and his wife Helen of Greenville, S.C., and Walter C. Daubenspeck of Prospect; a daughter, Cheryl Keenan of Greensburg; a brother, Knute Williams and his wife Mert of Butler; a sister, Ruth Wallace of Butler; and four granddaughters, two grandsons, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Robert E. Daubenspeck Jr.; her sisters Bessie Newell, Marian Kepple and Margaret Deal; and her brothers Richard Williams, who died in World War II, Paul Williams and Henry Williams Jr.

DAUBENSPECK - Friends of Dorothy Williams Daubenspeck, who died Friday, July 1, 2005, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A service will follow at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Harry Bielewicz, pastor of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
