James F. Sullivan

James F. Sullivan, 64, of Chicora died at 6:13 p.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.

Born in Pittsburgh Jan. 20, 1940, he was the son of Frances M. Balkovec Sullivan and the late James T. Sullivan.

He worked for 38 years out of the Ironworkers Local Union 3 in Pittsburgh, retiring in 2002.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a Vietnam War veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force from April 28, 1961, to April 27, 1967.

Mr. Sullivan was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, the Roman Catholic Men's Club of Herman, the American Legion Post 488 of Butler, Ironworkers Local Union 3 of Pittsburgh and the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Pittsburgh.

Surviving are his wife, Rosalind G. Blalock Sullivan, whom he married Jan. 30, 1965; a son, James P. Sullivan of Butler; five daughters, Mrs. Michael (Sharon Mae) Dalcamo of Connoquenessing, Mrs. K. "Chad" (Rosalind Mae) Shriver of Meridian, Frances Kathleen Sullivan of Manassas, Va., Michele Rebecca Sullivan of Chicora and Carolyn Sue Jones of Adams, N.Y.; his mother of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Patricia Sullivan of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Paul (Rita) Radvansky of Ellwood City and Mrs. David (Sharon) Palmieri of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

<b>SULLIVAN</b> - There will be no visitation for James. F. Sullivan, who died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Herman, with the Rev. John McCloskey officiating.Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 3014, Butler PA 16003.Arrangements are being handled by STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME.
