Rotary event to benefit ShelterBox

Rotary clubs in Western Pennsylvania are hosting a dinner to raise money for ShelterBox, an international disaster relief organization, from 6-10 p.m. Nov. 19 at The Stables at Connoquenessing on Evans City Road in Renfrew.

ShelterBox provides essential aid that families need to survive and begin rebuilding their lives after a disaster.

Since its founding in 2000, the organization has helped more than 2 million people around the world.

Tom and Marie Grant of the Rotary Club of Zelienople organized the first Shine for ShelterBox event in 2018 with the help of Rotarians from other area clubs.

The Grants passed away in December 2020. The event is dedicated to their memory.

The event is open to the public and includes dinner catered by John Marshall, entertainment by the Harmony-Zelienople Jazz Band, gift basket raffles and a silent auction.

Registration, sponsorship and other information about the fundraiser is available at shelterboxshine.square.site.
