Healthfest returns to SRU campus

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University is preparing for the cold and flu season through its Healthfest, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 19, at the Aebersold Student Recreation Center.

After taking last year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Healthfest returns for a 35th year to educate students, faculty, staff and the general public through interaction with more than 50 exhibitors. The event will feature a variety of free preventive services and techniques to promote mental, physical and environmental wellness.

New this year, Giant Eagle will provide COVID-19 vaccines. Students, staff and faculty can either start or complete their COVID-19 vaccination series, or receive their booster, for those who received the Pfizer vaccine. Additionally, Giant Eagle will provide flu shots for university employees and community members.

SRU students can receive a flu shot through Student Health Services that will be in the station adjacent to the Giant Eagle pharmacists.
