The National Weather Service Pittsburgh issued a tornado warning for Butler, Chicora and East Butler effective until 6:15 p.m. Karns City and Petrolia are also included in the warning.

The service issued a tornado watch for the region that extended from around 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. that also said the area was under “slight risk” of severe thunderstorms.

The watch said winds of up to 70 miles per hour could occur, and hail the size of quarters is also possible throughout the watch time.
