Butler Twp. OKs new Dunkin', Diehl projects new Butler Township locations

Travelers of Pittsburgh Road will soon see two new buildings on their trips, including one new option for coffee and breakfast.

Butler Township commissioners approved two land development requests Monday: one for Dunkin' and the other for Diehl Volkswagen of Butler.

The new Dunkin' is planned for 134 Pittsburgh Road, a location which previously housed a Pizza Hut.

Diehl Volkswagen of Butler is to construct a new center at 245 Pittsburgh Road, according to township manager Tom Knights.

“They both got their land development requests approved,” Knights said. “They previously went over the details at the planning commission meeting.”

Dunkin' is expected to build by the second or third quarter of 2022. The store is expected to have a drive-thru and indoor store.

The store's plans are still to be submitted to PennDOT.

Tom Taylor, a project manager with Hampton Technical Associates, spoke about Diehl's development plan at the planning commission meeting in August. He said the facility will be a dealership and service center, not a collision center, so there won't be car debris left on the property.
