Butler golfers card 188 in win over P-R

Behind sophomore Hunter Swidzinski's 1-under 34, the Butler boys golf team carded its lowest score in over a decade Monday in a 188-217 win over Pine-Richland at Hiland Golf Course.

The Golden Tornado (7-2, 10-2) also received 37s from Colin Patterson and Ryan Porch and 38s courtesy of Lucas Slear and Tyler Figlioli.

WPIAL Sectionals — In the Section 8-2A qualifer at Willowbrook Country Club, Freeport failed to advance any golfers to the next round.

Jayden Diehl led the Yellowjackets with a 90.

District 9 — In the next to last KSAC Mega Match of the season at Wanango Country Club near Oil City, Moniteau's Jacob Felsing tied Kam Kerle of Clarion for medalist honors with a 39.

Dawson Wallace tallied a 49 for the Warriors, who placed second behind Clarion (210) in the standings.

Max Southworth of A-C Valley/Union carded a 52.

Karns City's Braden Grossman had a 54.

Sam Miller scored a pair of goals as Butler remained unbeaten with a 4-0 win at North Hills.Chloe Weiland and freshman Sydney Patterson also scored for the Golden Tornado (1-0, 6-0), who host North Allegheny Wednesday night.
