3 flown to hospital after Route 68 crash

FORWARD TWP — Three people were flown to the hospital following a Route 68 crash Monday night.

At least two vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened around 9:13 p.m., according to emergency dispatchers.

The crash was near 1350 Evans City Road, roughly three miles northeast of Evans City.

Dispatchers said three individuals were extricated from vehicles when first responders arrived.

Three helicopters transported the injured occupants to a Pittsburgh-area hospital.

The conditions of the occupants were not immediately known.

Those responding to the scene included State Police, Adams Township Police, Cranberry Township Police and Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police, Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company, Callery Volunteer Fire Department, Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company, Evans City Volunteer Fire Department and Harmony Fire District, Butler Ambulance Services and Harmony Emergency Medical Services.
