Cooper's 3 TDs carry Union/ACV to 42-0 win

Ryan Cooper scored touchdowns three different ways Friday night as Union/A-C Valley rolled to a 42-0 football victory at Otto-Eldred.

The Falcon Knights (2-1) scored all of their points in the middle two quarters.

Cooper caught a touchdown pass from Bailey Crissman, returned an interception for a touchdown and a punt for a score.

Mikey Card rushed for a pair of touchdowns and Caden Rainey returned a punt for a score.

New Castle 48, Summit Academy 4 — The Knights (0-4) avoided a shutout by scoring on a pair of safeties.

Despite a small roster and very little experience, Summit Academy has not been shut out this season.

Girls Volleyball

Rosie Carden tallied five aces, eight kills, 13 assists and five digs, but Karns City dropped a 3-2 decision to Venango Catholic Thursday.

Scores were 27-25, 18-25, 25-21, 22-25, 21-19.

Ava Fox had an ace, 12 kills, two assists and 15 digs, Natalie Hess seven kills and a block, Cayley Craig an ace, 13 assists and six digs for the Gremlins.

Slippery Rock 3, Oil City 2 — Virginia Recchia had 14 assists for the Rockets, who won this match 25-18, 25-22, 12-25, 22-25, 17-15.

Reagan Duffy contributed eight kills and Ava Lee Demidovich 12 digs.

Cranberry 4, Moniteau 1 — Abbey Jewart had three aces and 19 assists for the Warriors, who lost 25-8, 26-28, 25-19, 25-11. Davina Pry added an ace and eight kills, Marissa Pry an ace and four kills.

Girls Soccer

Macrina Robb had two goals, Emma Slusser an assist in Knoch's 3-2 loss to Indiana.

Grace Foehringer had 12 saves. Knoch hosts Freeport Saturday.

Golf

Ethan Ellis was medalist with a 34 as North Catholic defeated Eden Christian, 195-203.
