Felsing, Ellis, Nicklas, Bertolo shine in golf

Jacob Felsing of Moniteau carded a 40 to place seventh overall in the KSAC Mega Match boys golf event Wednesday at Hi-Level Golf Course.

Dawson Wallace shot a 41, Chason Rugg a 44 and Connor Ealy 47 for the Warriors, who placed fourth in the team standings with a 222. Clarion won with 198.

Max Southworth led A-C Valley/Union with a 44. Braden Grossman carded a 53 for Karns City.

Dane Wenner of Cranberry was overall medalist with a 37.

North Catholic 206, Canon-McMillan 217 — Ethan Ellis earned medalist honors with a 37 for the Trojans in this match at Pheasant Ridge.

Ellis and teammate Kal Carson carded 37 for medalist honors in a match earlier this season against Northgate at Shannopin Country Club.

Shady Side Academy 194, Freeport 231 — Nate Covey led the Yellowjackets with a 44. Wes Warden carded a 33 to gain medalist honors for Shady Side.

Brynne Barger was medalist with a 49 as Moniteau won a Mega Match at Foxburg Country Club. The Warriors had 151, 23 strokes ahead of runner-up Cranberry.Katie Fallen shot a 50 and Mariska Shunk a 51 for Moniteau. Evie Bliss led A-C Valley with 60.

Meah Ielase dropped 13 kills on Punxsutawney as A-C Valley dominated the host Chucks in a 3-0 sweep.Jenna Stefanacci had 19 assists and 16 service points, Lexi Ruckdeschel had seven kills and Paige Klingler six kills and four aces.Ielase added 14 digs for the Falcons (3-0), who won by scores of 25-20, 25-12 and 25-22.
