These items were collected from various police departments:

Aug. 24 — Keith R. Pack, 43, of Butler, was charged with tampering with a drug screening, related to his Aug. 9 reporting to the house arrest office of Butler County.Detectives said Pack bought fake urine and tried to pass it off as his own. Detectives said probation officers found a small hose, a plastic bottle with fluid in it and a condom as part of a make-shift device to pass off the fake urine.Detectives said once caught with the device, Pack admitted to cocaine use.Aug. 19 — Lance A. Flowers, 32, who is homeless, was charged with two counts of drug possession and one count of drug paraphernalia possession, related to a May 13 incident on Ballpark Street in Butler.Detectives said Flowers, a known drug user, was walking around, and they stopped him to speak about a different incident. Detectives said they noticed him acting unusual, and they asked to search him.According to detectives, Flowers said he did not want to be searched, but admitted to having a needle. Detectives said possessing the needle was a crime and entitled them to search him, during which time they said they found 5 grams of crystal meth and 2.67 grams of crack cocaine.Aug. 18 — Stanley A. Springer, 23, of Laurel, Md., was charged with tampering with a drug screening, related to a request by house arrest.Detectives said probation officers noticed his urine sample was over 100 degrees, and during a search they found a plastic bottle of urine in Springer's sock with several hand warmers in his pants pocket.Detectives said Springer admitted to marijuana use.

Aug. 24 — Two people were arrested and charged with obstruction and resisting arrest, related to an Aug. 24 disturbance at a crime scene.Charges were filed against Dustin Blinn, 38, of Butler, and Stephanie R. Steiger, 36, of Butler. Police said both were warned multiple times to stay out of the crime scene.Police said at one point Blinn tore down crime scene tape and was yelling at officers. Police said he later began trimming a hedge inside the crime scene tape.Police said he was asked multiple times to exit the scene, and when he refused, officers arrested him. While arresting Blinn, Steiger charged toward officers and was arrested.2:26 p.m. Aug. 22 — Mark R. Hemphill, 61, of Butler, was arrested and charged for a first-offense DUI, related to a two-vehicle crash on the 300 block of South Main Street in Butler.Police said witnesses saw Hemphill sideswiped another vehicle and appeared intoxicated. Police said Hemphill admitted to drinking rum, and there was a half-gallon of rum in the vehicle.Police said field sobriety tests showed Hemphill was impaired.Aug. 19 — Cayla M. Cygan, 33, of Butler, was charged with drug possession after her Aug. 18 arrest on a bench warrant.Police said they responded to the parking garage of Butler Memorial Hospital for a report of a male breaking into a vehicle. Police said they instead found a man working on a broken-down vehicle and Cygan was standing alongside him.Police said they arrested Cygan on an Butler County bench warrant, and during that time they found Cygan with nine stamp bags of suspected heroin or fentanyl in her wallet, and seven white pills identified as Ativan.

Aug. 23 — Nicholas J. Minda, 24, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI and hit-and-run related to a July 10 crash at the intersection of Graham Road and Morton Avenue.Police said a witness reported seeing a vehicle hit a utility pole and leave the scene. Police said a second witness said a vehicle hit his car on McQuistion Road.Police said they located the vehicle that had been involved in both calls, and they found Minda smelling of alcohol in the driver's seat.Police said field sobriety tests showed Minda was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.228%. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08% is considered intoxicated.

Aug. 23 — Aaron S. Wiemelt, 32, of Butler, was charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct, related to an Aug. 11 incident at Rural King in Center Township.Police said Wiemelt entered the store despite being told by the store's manager to not return to the store, and while in the store Wiemelt caused a disturbance. Police said security footage shows the incident.
