11:02 p.m. Aug. 27 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 422 East near its intersection with Greenwood Drive in Butler Township.Police said a vehicle driven by Michael Mohn, 17, of Butler, struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Ian Goodman, 19, of Butler.Both drivers had passengers in the vehicle, but only Mohn reported an injury, a minor one.2:03 p.m. Aug. 27 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 8 near Greater Butler Mart in Butler Township.Police said a tri-axle driven by Rodney Parchman, 54, of New Castle, caught on fire. The Butler City Fire Department and Butler Fire Township Fire District 3 assisted at the scene.Police said there were no injuries from the fire, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.3:31 p.m. July 27 — Police responded to a hit-and-run crash on New Castle Road in front of Sheetz in Butler Township.Police said they identified Tia Andreassi, 18, of Butler, as the driver of the vehicle, and she was cited for the violation. No one was injured in the crash.8:53 a.m. Aug. 24 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Belmont Road in Butler Township.Police said Robert Best, 42, of Parker, backed his vehicle into one driven by Jeffery Dryden, 44, of Butler. Police said no one was injured.12:14 a.m. Aug. 22 — Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on West Rockenstein Avenue in Butler Township.Police said Leslie Monteleone, 50, of Butler, swerved to avoid a rabbit that ran in front of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.Police said Monteleone was not injured, but the pole was damaged and needs to be replaced.Aug. 20 — Brittany L. Irvin, 29, of Butler, was charged with theft, related to a wallet reported stolen Aug. 13 at the Days Inn in Butler Township.Police said the owner had left the wallet sitting on the front desk, and Irvin is seen on security footage putting the wallet in her purse.

Aug. 19 — Jenny L. Paserba, 38, of Cranberry Township, was charged with a first-offense DUI, related to a report of a disabled vehicle in the area of Rochester Road and Kettlecreek Drive in Cranberry Township.Police said they found the vehicle was damaged and in need of towing. Police said Paserba smelled of alcohol, and field sobriety tests showed she was impaired.Police said a later blood test showed Paserba's blood-alcohol content at .142%. In Pennsylvania, a level of .08% is considered intoxicated.Aug. 19 — Charles A. Hope, 30, of Aliquippa, was charged with harassment, related to a July 23 report made to officers at the Cranberry Township Police station.Police said a woman told officers a man she knew had threatened her through text messages. Police said the texts referenced hurting the woman and her family, and she was in fear for her family's and her safety.Aug. 19 — Kirk R. Bridges, 52, of Butler, was charged with disorderly conduct related to an Aug. 15 disturbance at multiple locations.Police said Bridges was drunk and acting belligerent toward staff of the Pittsburgh Marriott North. Police said he repeatedly yelled profanity at the staff and threatened to fight staff members.

Aug. 18 — Shawn McDonell, 42, of Butler, was charged with hit and run, related to an Aug. 4 vehicle crash on Route 228 at its intersection with Castle Creek Drive in Seven Fields.Police said they spoke with a woman who said a tractor-trailer had been driving aggressively behind her, and then at a stop light rear-ended her car. She said the man at one point got out and yelled at her before getting back in his vehicle and continuing to tailgate her vehicle.Police said they viewed traffic camera footage that confirms the woman's story, and the video also helped them identify McDonell, who was driving the truck for work.

Aug. 24 — Ronald W. Steighner, 36, of Butler, was charged with a first-offense DUI, stemming from a report of an impaired driver at the Kwik Fill in Center Township.Police said they located and identified Steighner, who was acting erratically while they spoke with him. Police said field sobriety tests showed Steighner was impaired, and he later refused any breath or blood tests.Aug. 24 — Amber L. Walsh, 27, of Butler, was charged with a second-offense DUI, stemming from an Aug. 17 traffic stop on Route 8 near South Benbrook Road in Center Township.Police said they stopped the vehicle for window tint. Police said Walsh acted erratically while they spoke, and field sobriety tests showed she was impaired.Police said Walsh then admitted to using heroin and fentanyl. Two stamp bags and paraphernalia were found during a search. Walsh also was charged with counts of drug and paraphernalia possession.Aug. 23 — Nathan C. Cousins, 31, of Kittanning, was charged with felony providing a false statement during a July 29 gun purchase.Police said Cousins tried to buy a 12-gauge shotgun and was denied after he noted on the form that he had not been charged with a crime that could result in a prison sentence of more than a year.Police noted that Cousins is facing a first-degree misdemeanor in a Allegheny County.Aug. 20 — Charles J. Turney, 28, of Petrolia, was charged with simple assault and harassment, related to an Aug. 19 domestic incident at his home on the 200 block of Church Street.Police said Turney's girlfriend told officers he pulled her off the couch and then kicked her in her stomach and back. She told officers Turney began walking toward the childrens' bedroom, and when she intercepted him, he punched her in the jaw.Aug. 20 — Amanda R. Brommer, 42, of Butler, was charged with drug and paraphernalia possession, related to a June 16 arrest in the parking lot of Sheetz at 1100 Center Ave. in Butler Township.Police said they had noticed Brommer, who was driving a vehicle registered in her name, had an active arrest warrant.Police said they arrested Brommer without incident, but when they searched her vehicle they found four stamp bags of suspected heroin, two bags of suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia for both.
